During the Duanwu Festival, a glutinous rice pudding called Zong zi is eaten to symbolize the rice offerings to Qu. Ingredients such as red dates(红枣), beans, lotus seeds（莲子）, chestnuts（栗子）, pork fat and the golden yolk of a salted duck egg are often added to the glutinous rice. The pudding is then wrapped with bamboo leaves, bound with a kind of raffia and boiled in salt water for hours.

Many traditional Chinese foods are intended to honor either the gods or divine persons in history. Zongzi is no exception. It is meant to honor Qu Yuan (340-278 BC.), the pioneer poet of ancient China.

Materials

Made from 100% soy/coco wax and bees wax with natural fragrance/essential oil

Burning Instructions

Before lighting your candle, trim your wick to 8mm with a pair of sharp scissors or a pair of candle wick scissors. This helps to stop any build up on your wicks and encourages your candle to perform to its best, providing the cleanest burn possible and an even burn.

Burn for 2-3 hours at a time, ensure the melt pool reaches the edge of the candle before extinguishing; this will help to prevent a “tunneling” effect and is especially important during the first burn.

Candle Safety

Remove all of the decoration ribbons / labels before burn.

To prevent fire and serious injury always burn your candle within sight. Avoid draughts, vibrations and keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Always place your candle and burn on a level fire resistant surface. Keep your candle free from any foreign material, this includes wick trimmings and matches.

    Target delivery times are 1-2 days for nationwide, and slightly longer for Rural Delivery addresses.
